E. Ivan Bartel (*18. Januar 1991) was born and raised in rural Chaco Paraguay. His family is of German-Canadian decent. He started his Piano studies at the age of 7 under the guidance of Mrs. Jenny de Janz. Because of his growing interest in music, his parents made it possible for him to also attend lessons in Music Theory, Solfegge, Voice, and Violoncello at the local Conservatorio de Música AMATI Filadelfia. In 2008, he completed a 10 level Piano Exam Program (MEC Paraguay).In 2010, after graduating from Highschool (Colegio Filadelfia), he completed a Bachelor degree in Music Performance at the Desautels Faculty of Music (University of Manitoba) in Winnipeg, Canada. Being one of 80 recipients of the „Undergraduate Student Research Award 2012“, he spent the summer 2012 as research assistant in the work of his mentor and teacher, Dr. Judith Kehler Siebert in the field of Piano Pedagogy. He has performed in numeroous recitals, both solo and collaborative, as well as local and national competitions in Paraguay and Canada.Since September 2014 he lives in Germany, where he studied as a Guest student at Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik in Berlin in the Winter term 2014-15, and studied privately with Pianist Irmela Roelcke, among others. For the next years he aspires to continue with Graduate studies in Piano Performance in Germany.
