Joseph is a third-year undergraduate studying piano with Professors Rene Lecuona and Uriel Tsachor at the University of Iowa Voxman School of Music where he has presented solo recitals in each of his collegiate years. Joseph received an Honorable Mention in the state round of the MTNA piano competition (2015), and he is an alumnus of Brevard Music Festival (2016). Artists for whom he has played in masterclasses include Asaf Zohar, Blanca Uribe, Catarina Domenici, and Paulina Zamora. After graduating from HLV High School in his hometown of Victor, Iowa – population 850 – he completed a gap-year serving as a foreign exchange student and youth ambassador in Saxony, Germany (2013-14). Due to his strong interest in the intersection of musical performance and musical analysis, Joseph has taken multiple music theory courses studying the analytical techniques of Heinrich Schenker and Arnold Schoenberg. Joseph is also pursuing a degree in mathematics.
